POSITION SUMMARY

The Shipping Coordinator under the direction of the immediate supervisor, coordinates the shipping, receiving, routing and verification of all products. Organizes, truck loading schedules, bill of ladings, as well coordinates with corporate transportation group. Maintains, updates and verifies accuracy of records. Ensures processing and forwarding of products. Handles all claims and queries with suppliers, freight companies.

REPORTING

The Shipping Coordinator reports to the Shipping Supervisor.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Responsible for ensuring all pre-loaded trailers are accounted for, including trailers in dock doors and on the yard
  • Ensure freight records are accurately maintained and filed, along with appropriately completed documentation. All loads shipped are accurate and documentation is completed correctly and submitted as required to various internal and external agencies and departments
  • Ensure necessary customs documentations are accurately provided to facilitate effective and timely border/customs clearance
  • Provide loading information to shipping forklift operators and yard drivers to ensure trailers are loaded correctly and in order of priority
  • Coordinate all on-site LTL freight movements, optimizing efficiencies through the shipping dock and traffic
  • Perform complex procedures, calculations and changes to deliveries as requested by Customer Service.
  • Create and post all outbound Special Export Deliveries (Parent Rolls/Finished Goods). Create deliveries in SAP, process orders for pick-up and complete postings for shipments in the system once picked up by carriers
  • Effective communication with Co-Workers, Brokers, Carriers, Customer Service, Transportation Management, Security and all other direct and indirect contacts on a daily basis. Present verbal and written information to Management and External agencies in a clear and concise manner
  • Responsible for assigning preload packets to yard drivers for delivery requests sent over from Carriers listed on our drop trailer program
  • Work or On-Call for assigned weekend duties as required by management schedule
  • Manage the job performance of the temporary support (contractors) assisting in the shipping by ensuring knowledge and day to day tasks are being completed properly.
  • Every employee must implement Kruger environmental policy in their daily tasks. In particular, employees are responsible to abide by legal and corporate environmental requirements and must adhere to all environmental procedures. Every employee is responsibly to report all environmental incidents and any potential environmental hazards



QUALIFICATIONS

  • HS Diploma/GED required with a preference for a Associates Degree in Technical or Business related field
  • 2-3 years related experience as a shipping clerk, inventory clerk or preferably in a distribution/logistic or manufacturing environment. With advanced office/clerk management experience.
  • Communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
  • Plan and organize your own work activities, manage work time efficiently, work independently
  • To have proven complex analytical skills as well as ability to develop sound recommendations and solutions
  • Demonstrated accountability and responsibility for independent judgment and successful outcomes
  • Work in a fast paced environment
  • Office procedures, methods, including computers and applicable Microsoft Office and other applicable software and databases
  • Consistent track record for executing performance objectives an delivering results
  • Maintaining high energy as well as a pleasant and professional demeanor
  • Key Competencies including: candor/integrity, influencing & building partnerships, team work, accountability, problem solving, and customer focus
