This position is responsible for providing data-driven decision-making to the forefront of the banks business strategy by implementing advanced analytics, statistical methods, and prescriptive insights to drive business performance in support, operational, and sales areas. This role regularly delivers innovative analysis, reporting, and strategic recommendations to the highest levels of leadership of the company and drives decision-making insights to key stakeholders across the institution. The role will also be responsible for driving the strategy to implement and maintain a robust data governance program, functional and technical data architecture, in addition to maintaining day-to-day operations to support business needs. Success will be achieved through data enrichment, data modeling, data clean-up and integrity exercises, and the visualization of data at key points in time to advance our initiatives. Other key objectives are maintaining and creating the operational model(s) for data governance, integrity, consumption and delivery.

Responsibilities:                          

  • Leadership: You are responsible to create and build, maintain and implement the Data & Analytics team strategy, vision and roadmap initiatives and projects. Work with top talent in a fast-paced environment, setting data quality, governance, and visualization in a simplistic manner are top priorities. Work with the business to sponsor and champion analytics that drive increased positive sentiment and revenue. Develop and maintain policies and procedures necessary for the correct functioning of the area. Use reason and care to obtain the resources to fulfill the responsibilities as efficiently as possible. Organize work in a way that maximizes productivity and minimizes errors.
  • Supervision: Manage a team of managers, specialists, analysts and associates. Interview, hire and train managers, specialists, analysts and associates. Plan, assign and direct workloads of managers, specialists, analysts and associates. Appraise performance, reward and discipline specialists, analysts and associates. Promote competencies development. Assure resilience via employee engagement, talent management, succession and business continuity planning.
  • Decision-making support: Provide fact-based opinions to support strategic decisions. Provide insights to grow and develop our brand and businesses in new and existing markets. Leverage research and analytics to identify new opportunities, improving existing while maintaining a focus on our strategy and customer experience.
  • Reporting: Provide analytics and reports to all areas of the bank to monitor business KPIs, goals, and product origination performance, while uncovering business opportunities to increase share-of-wallet and bottom-line revenue. Ensure the sales team has prioritization of their leads, and daily to-dos in a meaningful manner that is automated and scalable. Embed visuals and metrics that drive action across workflow tools. Provide an enterprise view of business at an organization level, provide sentiment metrics across the customer, employee, and service journey lifecycles, including ROI, eNPS, NPS, and customer feedback. Manage and maintain enterprise-wide governance for reporting commonalities. 
  • Modeling: Responsible for developing and building of predictive advance models process for business problems. Lead and direct in the testing and validation of predictive models and data. SME working with information/data architects to ensure proper logic data models are defined correctly, including data capturing, validation and storage processes. This person will also need to be able to build and develop predictive model as well using machine and deep learning algorithm and techniques.
  • Analytics: Work with large databases, including structures and unstructured data, machine and deep learning, in order to mine, discover and connect the dots identifying underlying information and creating knowledge. Forward thinking to execute data reporting and analysis. Implement automation of data capture and delivery. 
  • Technical: You have mastered open-source languages and handling large data sets and she/he is passionate about developing further. You have hands-on experience developing data science solutions using open-source tools and cloud computing platforms. A breast on the machine and deep learning techniques (supervised, unsupervised, classification, regression, decision analytics, time-series, Bayes, forecast, among other predictive modeling methodologies). Design and define overall data capability architecture to meet current and future business needs. Build an Innovation ecosystem to bring forward new ways of thinking around data to improve business outcomes. Collaborates with IT to model and design application data structures, storage, and integration in accordance with enterprise-wide architecture standards and processes. Partner with the business to resolve Data Ownership opportunities and to translate business needs into long-term data architecture needs. Ensure consistency of data systems, tools, and architectural best practices across the organization. This role is expected to lead the design and development of entire data pipelines for operations – from data storage to strategic recommendation – by architecting outcome-oriented data storage, democratizing data across the organization, building advanced predictive models, and providing valuable strategic insights and recommendations. This role manages a team of analysts who use statistical methods to provide prescriptive insight into business performance and design strategies for prioritizing and acting on new opportunities uncovered by the analysis. Consult with stakeholders to understand cross-departmental functionality and to identify unique strategic opportunities. Recommend operational performance goals and KPIs, considering the impact on the business and outside competitive landscape
  • Market research: In coordination with other areas, develop and execute market research studies and analysis for the organization. Establish banks benchmark and provide customer acquisition profile and prospects.
  • Management and Coordination: Coordinate with other areas of the bank and external partners for data access, effectiveness and reliability; including Big Data objectives under the concepts of volume, veracity, velocity and variety. Maintain close collaboration with equivalent functions, peers and counterparties. Work with vendors in implementation of solutions. Also responsible for bringing together the foundational components of the data ecosystems in order to provide capabilities that improve the quality and fidelity of data consumed by business processes and analytics use cases
  • Collaboration with all units of the bank to design and implement data analytics that will reduce the time spent on executing more complex financial tasks resulting from disparate systems
  • Risk: Identify and report to immediate supervisor any current or prospective risks to earnings or capital arising from violations of, or nonconformance with laws, rules, regulations, prescribed practices, internal policies and procedures or ethical standards.  Direct the strategy and maintenance of the Bank’s Enterprise-Wide Data Management Office with participation in Data Governance Council and leading the Data Stewards towards achieving their roles and responsibility for the respective Data Domain.  

Minimum Work Experience Requirements:

7+ in Analytics and/or Business Intelligence

3+ years in Managerial Positions

5+ in Financial Services

3+ in Project management


Minimum Education and/or Certification Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in related fields (Required) with MBA and/or MSc in related fields (Required) or PHD is a plus


Technical and/or Other Essential Knowledge: 

Good interpersonal skills and proven ability to work effectively with coworkers at all levels of the organization. Extensive financial industry knowledge.

Ability to contribute to innovation with creative solutions. Advanced computer skills. Strong analytical, project planning and management skills.
