Overview:
This individual will assemble and test basic RF measurement and motion control systems. The individual will participate in preparing product compliance documentation. This position includes working with the company’s System and Manufacturing engineers to troubleshoot integrated controls and RF systems. Additionally, this employee will provide input to the creation and maintenance of work instructions. Previous RF experience is a requirement. Complex mechanical assembly skills are a requirement.
Responsibilities:
Assemble and test a variety of electromechanical and electronic products and systems Assemble and test wire harnesses, cables, subassemblies Follow written procedures for product testing, calibration, and verification Work closely and effectively with Manufacturing and System Engineers Test components and assemblies using ATE or standard equipment and tools Interpret engineering documents for assembly, test, and rework: Schematic, blueprint, wire list, various diagrams, verbal instruction Use a wide variety of hand tools: Soldering iron, wire stripper, crimper, wrench, screwdriver, pliers, torque wrench Repair electronic assemblies, components, and boards: Soldering rework for SMT or thru-hole boards Troubleshooting / adjustment to meet performance specifications or tolerances Accurately document test and measurement procedures and results Support process control / process improvement efforts Maintain equipment calibration Assist and train other Electronic Technicians in assembly, troubleshooting, and repairsRequired Skills:
Knowledge in electronics; analog, power, digital Analytical reasoning and problem solving. Experience in following test instructions and procedures. Assembly and repair of through-hole and surface mount circuit boardsWorking knowledge of the use of electronics assembly tools, wiring and electrical assembly tools, wiring and electrical assembly tools
Good communication skills written, spoken and interpersonal skills. Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance. Ability to travel up to 5%.Desirable skills:
Analytical reasoning and problem solving Following written test instructions and procedures Written, spoken and interpersonal communication skills Solid electronics knowledge: analog, power, digital, basic RF theory Working knowledge of: Hand tools for electromechanical assembly Basic electronic measurement tools RF/Microwave test equipment SMA, 3.5 mm, and K connectors, torque wrench Assembly and repair of through-hole and surface mount circuit boards Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance Ability to travel up to 5% Ability to advance to higher-level technician or engineering positions Knowledge of ISO 9000 Quality processes a plusExperience Level: 3+ years of experience in assembly and test of electronic products, systems, modules and test equipment
Education Level: Technician Certificate or equivalent experience (Required)
