The Work You'll Do:

As a Staff Accountant II, you'll play a crucial role in our finance team, handling the preparation of both standard and specialized financial reports in line with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Your responsibilities will cover various aspects of general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.

We're looking for someone with sharp analytical skills, a keen attention to detail, and a solid understanding of GAAP principles to excel in this role. If you're ready to dive into the world of finance and make a meaningful impact, we'd love to have you on board.

This is a hybrid role which will require a significant amount of time spent in office.

More specifically you will: Generates customer invoices and monitor accounts receivable for accuracy and payment Gathers financial information on customers and prospects for credit checks; maintain credit files Records vendor invoices and monitor accounts payable for accuracy and payment Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely Assists in the monthly close of the company’s financial statements including preparation of schedules support balance sheet and income statement accounts Documents and develops accounting and control procedures for overall complex accounts Prepare taxes fillings and assists in financial analysis and analysis as well as monthly department reporting Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts, prepaid expenses, accruals, and fixed assets Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all deadlines are met Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve discrepancies or variances in financial data Works with other departments to ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures Provides supporting documentation and analytical information for all internal and external audits Takes full responsibility for ensuring internal and external customer satisfaction Demonstrates initiative, drive and determination to achieve results, success and growth Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations, and ensure compliance with GAAP principles Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the finance department 

What We Need From You

At least 2 years of overall accounting experience; knowledge of accounting processes and procedures CPA is a nice to have Strong Excel skills Excellent communication and customer service skills in dealing with internal and external customers Attention to detail Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work in a structured environment Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information and records with a high degree of discretion, diligence and good judgment Maintains a high level of energy, enthusiasm, engagement and commitment to action Develops trust and models open, candid, respectful communication and collaborative teamwork Demonstrates a high degree of self-awareness and commitment to personal development and learning What Does Sovos Offer You?
