Job Description

We are seeking an experienced UAS Operations Engineer to join our team. The UAS Operations Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) within our organization. This role includes planning, executing, and managing UAS missions, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, and optimizing operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in UAS technology, operational management, and a thorough understanding of aviation regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Mission Planning and Execution:

Develop and implement detailed UAS mission plans. Coordinate and oversee UAS flight operations, ensuring all missions are conducted safely and efficiently. Analyze mission outcomes and provide recommendations for improvements.

Operational Management:

Manage the daily operations of the UAS fleet, including scheduling, logistics, and maintenance. Ensure compliance with all relevant aviation regulations and standards. Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for UAS operations.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

Oversee the maintenance and repair of UAS equipment. Conduct regular inspections and troubleshoot any technical issues that arise. Ensure all UAS systems are kept in optimal working condition.

Data Management and Analysis:

Collect and analyze data from UAS missions to inform decision-making and operational improvements. Maintain accurate records of all flight operations, maintenance activities, and regulatory compliance.

Training and Development:

Train and supervise UAS operators and support staff. Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in UAS technology and best practices. Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities for team members. Job Requirements

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aviation, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 15 years of experience in UAS operations, aviation, or a related field. Proven track record in managing complex UAS missions and operations.

Skills:

Strong understanding of UAS technology, including hardware and software systems. In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations and standards. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in data analysis and operational reporting tools.

Certifications:

FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate or equivalent. Additional certifications in UAS operations or aviation management are a plus.

Additional Information:

Must be willing to travel as required for mission planning and execution.
