Coordinator for Orientation and Admissions Events

Francis Marion University invites applications for the position of Coordinator of Orientation and Admissions Events, who will plan and coordinate Admissions events including, but not limited to, New Student Orientation and Open House.

The Coordinator will report to the Director of Admissions and will also work closely with the Vice President for Enrollment Management. The primary responsibilities of the Coordinator will be to plan, implement and evaluate New Student Orientation programming and to advise and supervise approximately thirty temporary student employees known as Orientation Leaders. The selected candidate will also consult with prospective students and will evaluate prospective student admission applications for graduate students. In addition, the Coordinator will be available to answer questions about financial assistance, admissions, registration, housing, academics, and related areas.

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Recruiting students to FMU through established recruiting protocols, including campus and private visits, and presentations. Developing New Student Orientation literature and event marketing materials Tracking admissions event attendance and registration Weekly reporting of event statistics Comparative analysis for on-demand enrollment reporting Corresponding with Faculty and Staff to inform of detailed event information and communicating with cross-functional areas to facilitate the successful execution of campus-wide events. Efficiently managing Orientation budget, and executing necessary supply purchases Work with external vendors to suit Orientation and Admissions event needs. Evaluating applications of prospective Francis Marion University students. Counseling and providing information to prospective students about the admissions process and providing information about campus academic departments and support services. Participating in on-going professional development to develop the skills and competencies needed for success in enrollment management. Other assigned duties.

Start Date: July 1, 2024

State Requirement: Bachelor’s degree.

FMU Requirements: Ability to work independently toward assigned goals; ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with a variety of diverse audiences; ability to travel occasionally and work a flexible schedule, with monthly weekend work; must have valid Driver’s License.

FMU Preferences: Some experience in college admissions work, orientation, and/or event planning; knowledge of FMU’s admission and financial assistance policies and procedures; some supervisory experience.

Salary: $45,000; Commensurate with abilities, experience, and state compensation guidelines
