Sodexo is seeking an engaged and innovative  Retail Manager 3  for  The University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB)  located in  Birmingham, Al. UAB is  an urban college campus that cares about its students, faculty, and community. Reporting to the General Manager, our Hands-On Retail Manager will be involved in all day-to-day operations - overseeing 2 National Food Brands, 2 Convenience stores, a Ghost Kitchen concept and manage the Simply ToGo program. Our Retail manager will work with the Marketing team to promote Campus Dining and will provide leadership for our high-level supervisors who oversee each retail location. 

Is this opportunity right for you? We are looking for candidates who have:

3 – 5 years restaurant management experience in National Branded Food concepts (ie: Chick-Fil-A, Einstein Bagels, Starbucks, etc), or background in large restaurant or other food concepts; have a work history in Food Retail management demonstrating strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization; possess the ability to manage multiple priorities and exhibit a passion for a high-level of customer service; demonstrate working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems as well as menu graphics programs. proven track record for developing, leading, and engaging retail teams.

 Are You the One?   The successful candidate will:

motivate, coach, mentor and develop managers and frontline (hourly-paid); oversee cash handing processes, and POS programming and maintenance; have working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production, and management system; ensure food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standard compliance;  maintain integrity of retail branded concept standards (national and in-house brands); and maintain all product merchandising, marketing and ordering standards are in place.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience – 1 year of work experience in concessions, retail sales, or store operations
