The role of the Facility Management Specialist is to maintain the security and safety of the National Gypsum Headquarters associates, contractors, vendors, and guests while performing other facilities management tasks and responsibilities. This is an on-site position at the headquarters office in Charlotte, NC.


Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent

​Knowledge / Skills Requirements:
Ability to multi-task
Strong oral communication and observation skills
Valid driver's license and transportation
Ability to comprehend policies/procedures and communicate to associates, vendors and guests

Ability to work rotating shifts as needed including days, nights, weekends, and holidays

General knowledge of Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook), as well as willingness to learn new computer based programs for processing invoices, purchase orders and capital expenditures

Maintain a first aid/CPR certification and able to provide basic aid to injured persons

Monitor all alarm systems in the home office (fire, security, environmental and safety) and respond according to (SOP) Standard Operating Procedures

Monitor all cameras and investigate and report, in writing, all unusual occurrences or events
Issue, control and file associate, vendor and guest access cards and information

Assist with additional facilities duties as requested by the Facilities Manager and Building Engineer

Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
Ability to operate and drive company vehicles
Ability to utilize keys and manipulate various locks.
Ability to operate standard phone, computer other business machines
Ability to perform some lifting ( lbs.)
Ability to climb ladders, scaffolds and work at heights
Ability to operate communications, photographic, and video equipment
