Facilities Operations Specialist

The Facilities Operations Specialist is a key member of our maintenance team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities
- Facilities Maintenance: Perform routine and general maintenance on facilities, buildings, and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Technician Support: Assist Service Technicians with onboarding, mentoring, and training to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Site Inspections: Conduct site inspections under the direction of the Regional Manager and Director of Property Operations to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Contractor Management: Obtain bids, interview contractors, and conduct follow-up to ensure special projects are completed to a high standard.
- Emergency Response: Provide emergency maintenance availability for residents when indicated and respond to resident complaints and concerns in a timely, professional, and appropriate manner.
- Maintenance Tasks: Perform light plumbing, electrical, carpentry, masonry, glazing, painting, and drywall tasks, as well as minor repairs of plumbing systems, kitchen appliances, and other equipment.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance performed, including weather logs and vendor work completion.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with residents, vendors, and colleagues to ensure seamless operations and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Other Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned by the Regional Manager or Director of Property Operations.
Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Trade certification preferred.
- Experience: 3 years relevant work experience required; Supervisory experience preferred.
- Certifications: Universal EPA/HVAC certification or equivalent preferred or ability to obtain within one year of employment.
- Skillset: Proven ability to plan, organize, and implement multiple tasks/projects on a concurrent, real-time basis; Troubleshooting ability; Excellent time management skills; Strong communication skills and general business acumen.
Compensation
We offer a competitive hourly wage of $25-$30 per hour, depending on experience.
