Charleston Birth Place - Located within minutes of historic Charleston, South Carolina, and its many beaches, Charleston Birth Place is the only CABC-accredited CNM freestanding birth center in South Carolina.  We serve a diverse population with roots serving the military and the uninsured. Established in 2008, we are a CNM-owned practice that has assisted over 3,500 families who seek a low-intervention out-of-hospital birth. We attend births at our beautiful new 9,000 sq. ft birth center and the new state-of-the-art Pearl Tourville Women's Pavilion at the Medical University of South Carolina.  Our maternity services include extended prenatal care appointments, labor support, water birth, and frequent postpartum follow-up. Through our Nest program, we offer in-house chiropractic care, pelvic floor PT, mental health counseling, IBCLC consulting, and a variety of classes and support groups. Our wellness services include annual exams, contraception, IUD placement, gynecological problem visits, and preconception planning.  If you are interested in joining a practice that values midwife autonomy, shared decision-making, and physiologic birth please join us in sunny Charleston, SC._______________________ Client Care Coordinator Minimal Qualifications:  3 years work-related experience, required High School graduate or equivalent 2 Years Med/Office Administration AAS preferred Certified in adult CPR, required  Schedule: Hours of operation: Monday – Thursday 8.30am - 5pm                                  Friday (work remotely, optional hours) Full-time position  Salary:  Hourly rate based on experience with potential for increase after 90-day probationary period  Essential Job Requirements: The position involves serving as the primary administrative intermediary among clinical staff, the administrative director, and clients. Proficiency in multitasking is crucial for maintaining the seamless operation of the front office, reception area, lab, and exam rooms. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are required to effectively perform assigned duties. The role involves providing high-quality client care by supporting the professional staff and aligning job performance with the mission of Charleston Birth Place.  General Job Descriptions: Will provide the client with individual attention to complete the tasks of registration, acquire insurance information, facilitate lab visits, schedule appointments, and share information about the birth center. Ensure the birth center is an environment conducive to presenting a positive, professional yet personal experience for the clients throughout their visit to the center.   Job Responsibilities and Duties Telephone: 1. All phone conversations are handled in a courteous and friendly manner.2. See that all messages are recorded accurately, calls are screened as requested and see that staff are informed of messages in a timely manner.3. Give client information for questions related to her care Registration and check out of clients1. Register all new clients according to CBP procedure.2. Inquire about any changes of address, phone number, insurance, or Medicaid status of each client.3. Responsible for the development and maintenance of all forms needed for the registration process.4. Arrange and collect invoice payments and create payment plans as needed. Medical Records1. Manage and maintain medical records, keep records filed properly in EHR and all forms needed for them.2. Keep adequate supply of paper records request/ referrals for midwives to have available on hand.3. Pull records as requested for appointments, labs, referrals, etc. Billing1. Coordinate with the Billing Company and the Director to provide and collect all necessary information for billing purposes.2. Collect insurance information from each client and arrange for a VOB to be completed with the billing company in accordance with CBP guidelines.3. Collect all payments and complete payment log and bank deposit according to CBP policies4. Refer any problems regarding billing to the Director5. Communicate with the Director to ensure that all necessary information is gathered and reported correctly.6.     Complete tasks in a timely manner that are necessary for the billing process to be done accurately and efficiently. Appointments1. Making patient appointments according to midwives' schedule.2. Report follow-up on all no-shows daily, enter these into the patient’s EHR and update as a cause. Inform Director of no shows. Labs and Exam Areas1. Provide guidance and assistance to clinical staff to prepare all labs for transport, including spinning them down as directed in centrifuge, labeling,            placing order and specimens in bag, and place in box outside.2. Direct all lab results received to the CNM for review and upload to EHR.3. Assist clinical staff in stocking and prepping of exam rooms, as needed in accordance with CNM instructions. Additional responsibilities1. Maintain strict confidentiality in and out of office in accordance with HIPPA regulations.2. Adhere to Bloodborne Pathogens Standard in the execution of tasks at the birth center3. Participants in various department and staff meetings and events as requested4. Work with clinical and administrative staff to ensure that the birth center operates efficiently and professionally.5.
