The Role:

Working within the Endpoint Technology Configuration (ETC) team, Morningstar isseeking a dynamic and experienced MDM/endpoint engineer to lead our mobile device engineering initiatives.

The responsibilities of thistechnology lead role include MDM architecture and design, governance, implementation, and ongoing support of our mobile device ecosystem. This role involves collaboration with various business partners to develop, test and implement policies to ensure the security, compliance, and efficiency of our mobile device environment.Additional responsibilities will include engineering and operational responsibilities involving MacOS and Windows endpoints.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of MDM principles, strong technical expertise, and proven leadership skills in managing mobile device environments.

This position is based in our Chicago office and we follow a hybrid policy.

Responsibilities: 

Act as a subject matter expert for the Morningstar MDM environment.

Collaborate with IT, security & compliance teams to define policies and standards for mobile device management.

Lead and mentor your ETC engineering colleagues, providing technical guidance and support to achieve optimal mobile device management.

Help foster a collaborative and innovative team culture focused on continuous improvement.

Oversee the integration of MDM systems with other enterprise security and management tools.

Implement and enforce security measures for mobile devices, including device encryption, access controls, and threat detection.

Ensure compliance with industry regulations and data protection standards related to mobile devices.

May be assigned additional project work related to the broader aspects of the ETC team.

Oversee the deployment and management of mobile applications through MDM systems.

Implement strategies for securing and monitoring mobile app usage.

Develop and maintaindesign documentation. 

Develop and maintainend user and support documentation.

Develop and execute incident response plans for mobile device security incidents.

Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting and resolving MDM-related issues. 

Requirements:

A degree incomputerscience, information technology or related field.

An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. 

3+ years proven enterprise level experience in a senior engineering role, with a focus on mobile device management.

3+ years proven enterprise level experience managing industry standard operating systems (e.g., iOS and Android).

3+ years Enterprise level expertise in the broader aspects of managing MacOS and Windows endpoints using tools like SCCM, Intune and JamF.

In-depth knowledge of MDM concepts, mobile security, and compliance standards.

Strong technical skills in deploying and managing MDM solutions (e.g., Intune, JAMF).

Experience with mobile application management and deployment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
