Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert technical leadership on IP and mobile IP data transport, network design, network management, solution deployment and integration for the hybrid cloud infrastructure.
  • Design, operate and optimize core routing and switching environments, develop network security designs, perform network maintenance and optimization, develop simulated test environment, develop automation tools, architect the evolution and migration of the network infrastructure, and manage external network connectivity.
  • Work on complex projects including teams from multiple areas e.g. Cellular core, Dev Ops, etc.
  • Lead projects from start to end including design, configuration and documentation.
  • Configure, deploy and manage firewalls, switches, routers, VPN appliances, load balancers and network management tools in a multi-vendor environment.
  • Design, develop, implement and manage our hybrid cloud infrastructure.
  • Perform network maintenance and hardware/software upgrade of networking equipment.
  • Lead network diagnosis and trouble-shooting.
  • Develop automation tools for network operation tasks.
  • Design, implement and support simulated network test environment.
  • Handle complex internal analysis and support of the network and security infrastructure and anticipate networking and security needs for planning and budgeting.
  • Lead auditing and documentation of the environment on a regular basis, including analyzing and delivering network performance metrics as needed.
  • Perform multi-functional training to other engineering disciplines.
  • Establish, maintain and monitor enterprise customer connectivity to Aeris Communications platforms and provide advanced client support as required within a 24/7 environment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of professional experience in a Network Engineering capacity, and have CCNP certification or higher.
  • Excellent understanding of standard networking protocols and architecture and a solid experience with implementing and operating L2 (VLAN, STP, VPC, VRF) and L3 (OSPF, MPBGP, MPLS, EIGRP, HSRP) IP network infrastructure.
  • Solid hands-on experience (5+ years) with Cisco ASR routers, Cisco Cat 8k virtual routers, Nexus switches (N7k, N5k, N2k), Catalyst switches, Cisco ASA firewalls (virtual and physical).
  • Experienced with Cisco ASA firewalls, VPN policies, NAT/PAT, firewall routing using OSPF, BGP and EIGRP; working with multiple contexts is preferred.
  • Worked with designing and building complex IP L2 and L3 environments in large enterprises or telco environments.
  • Direct experience working on multi-site and data center connectivity for High Availability applications.
  • Strong firsthand experience working with public cloud infrastructure and with virtual networking and private cloud technologies.
  • Proficient in creating diagrams (using Visio, Power point or similar applications) and presenting them to the team.
  • Previous experience using platform and application monitoring tools such as TACACS, SolarWinds, Big Brother and Zabbix.
  • Self-starter, assertive, well organized, and have precise attention to detail as well as excellent verbal and written communication and documentation skills.
  • Enjoy problem-solving, applying critical thinking and calmness to find solutions in high-pressure situations.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience or knowledge of cellular core network.
  • Experience in network automation.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud, Azure or AWS.
  • Hands-on experience on Juniper equipment.
  • Previously worked with Container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS and Virtualization Certifications.
  • Well-versed with using scripting languages such as Perl, Python, or Bash.
