Job Description
General Summary
Responsible for supporting corporate-directed strategy, planning, business development and strategy execution activities including the UMMS Strategic Framework, the system’s annual operating plan structure/process, system integration initiatives as well as UMMS Member Organization-specific needs. Responsible for supporting alignment of such strategy execution activities with related strategic priorities under Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Shared Services and supporting core activities for the Equity in Patient Care functional area. Work is performed under general direction. Direct report to the Sr. Director, Strategy & Business Development and VP, Chief Health Equity Officer
Principal Responsibilities and Tasks
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. These are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job duties performed by personnel so classified.
Support the strategic development and systemwide implementation of priority activities under Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Shared Services, including but not limited to the “Equity in Patient Care” functional area. Provide project management support, committee coordination, and creation of deliverables for relevant initiatives, such as the UMMS Health Equity Challenge, race-based clinical algorithms portfolio, and other duties as assigned. Serve as project manager for the UMMS Equity in Patient Care Steering Committee and the member organizations’ Equity in Patient Care Workgroups. Oversee the annual operating plan structure/process activities systemwide, which includes assuring that 50+ business unit annual plans are documented in a timely manner, quarterly updates occur in a timely manner, reporting needs are met, and member organization mid-year review process is completed in a timely manner. Support activities related to the annual renewal of UMMS’ 3-year, system-wide, rolling Strategic Framework. Support the development and implementation of a system intelligence function to monitor and assess external environmental factors that could influence system strategies and initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred. 3+ years’ experience in health care management, or strategic planning and data analytics.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Advanced knowledge of data/analytics including knowledge of Sg2’s suite of intelligence tools. Advanced knowledge of health equity initiatives, including design and implementation. Proven strategic agility and ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
