IPHI is currently recruiting for a Director, Prince George’s County Food Equity Council. Formed in 2013, the Prince George’s County Food Equity Council (FEC) is a local food policy council that helps residents grow, sell, and choose healthy foods. IPHI helped incubate FEC and currently serves as its backbone organization and fiscal sponsor. The FEC works closely with county leaders to find systemic and sustainable solutions to the county’s public health and economic challenges. The Director will manage a team that leads several programs and initiatives focused on food rescue, a healthy food prescription pilot project, and supporting food assistance providers, among other projects. The Director will lead collaborative public health program development, implementation, and evaluation activities, with a principal focus on food systems approaches. This senior leadership position requires oversight and coordination of high-quality program design and delivery, internal administration and project management, external partnership facilitation, and cultivation of new business opportunities and program portfolio development, as well as other responsibilities. Primary Responsibilities

Provide leadership support to the FEC’s Steering Committee and ensure effective operations of the FEC and its various committees and workgroups. Provide leadership for the development and implementation of innovative and evidence-based public health interventions focused on food security and food equity. Direct, manage, implement, and monitor food-related policies, programs, and initiatives. Cultivate and manage funder, business client and community partner relationships. Grow financial resources and partnerships to ensure expansion and sustainability of the FEC’s work. Serve as a spokesperson for the Prince George’s Food Equity Council (FEC) and actively participate in local and regional food system focused coalitions and working groups. Develop and ensure the use of detailed workplans and timelines to guide achievement of grant, contract, and partnership commitments. Support and lead organizational and community capacity building efforts, including trainings and workshops on topics relevant to monitoring, evaluation, and learning. Provide supervision, guidance, and coaching to staff and consultants to support their growth and effectiveness within their programmatic responsibilities. Lead lobbying and advocacy campaigns to advance food and health equity at the local and state level. Engage in public speaking, develop presentation materials, and develop and deliver presentations at meetings and conferences. Lead budget management of diverse funding sources and oversee the revenue and expenditure tracking. Ensure adherence to administrative and recordkeeping guidelines to support accurate bookkeeping and documentation of activities to ensure compliance with funding requirements. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and at least 8 years of professional experience in public health, social services, food systems, policy advocacy related field required. Demonstrated commitment to racial and social justice. Experience or familiarity with issues related to community food systems. Experience with securing and managing private and government grants and contracts. Experience with budget management including developing budgets and tracking systems and overseeing the revenue and expenditure tracking of grants and contracts. Track record of successful management of various complex, collaborative programs. Experience effectively supervising a small team of staff and consultants and supporting their achievement of work-related goals. Ability to work with diverse individuals and groups on complex community issues. Experience facilitating group processes, such as committees or community coalitions. Experience working with state or local government, health and social services providers, civic organizations or non-profits and collaborating food and agriculture stakeholders. Demonstrated professional and political aptitude, diplomacy, and conflict management. Demonstrated experience with management and partnership practices that support diversity, equity, and inclusion. Strong oral and written communications skills, including ability to write clear and concise reports, develop presentation materials and deliver oral presentations. A commitment to continuous learning and quality improvement. Familiarity with Prince George’s County, Southern Maryland, or the DC-MD-VA region more broadly. Compensation This is an exempt position with competitive benefits and an anticipated starting full-time salary of $90,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience. Continued support for this position is contingent upon available funding. IPHI offers a flexible and collegial work environment and competitive benefits package, including vacation and health leave, health/dental/vision insurance, disability and life insurances, and retirement 403 (b) plan and contributions, among other benefits. Location Job location is flexible within the region, though candidates residing in Prince George’s County or Southern Maryland local area are preferred. IPHI has offices in Washington, DC; Largo, MD and Richmond, VA, and has a commitment to hiring from within the DC-MD-VA region. IPHI currently has a flexible telecommuting policy, though travel, in-person meetings, and some on-site work will be required. Business travel costs are reimbursable.
