Carelon Medical Benefits Management (MBM) Client Delivery Team is looking to hire a Business Strategy Planning Director, reporting to the Staff Vice President of Execution Enablement. The Director will be a key leader within Client Management, responsible for ensuring health plan client deliverables, implementing strategies that promote client retention and growth, and seamlessly operating the interface between client systems and operations areas, driving Provider Net Promoter Score (NPS). This role can work in a hybrid way from any US Elevance Health Corporate work site, with Chicago IL being the preferred location. 

How you will make an impact:

• Understands all aspects of the Carelon Medical Benefits Management business and partners with executive leadership to define strategy and successful criteria for the future.

• Translates strategy into defined tactics, programs/projects priorities, and timelines and ensures alignment and attainment of enterprises strategic plans to turn strategy into reality.

• Documents strategic priorities such as external environment and reports on customer insight research initiatives.

• Builds and leverages relationships to provide innovative solutions to complex business problems.

• Proposes opportunities to improve results based on continuous needs assessment.

• Responsible for the development implementation and monitoring of line of business planning and project activities.

• Leads all client performance analysis to seek out financial/expansion opportunities.

• Partners with Solution General Managers to maximize client roadmap potential for MBM solutions.

• Works closely with VP of Execution Enablement and Business Performance Management Director to prioritize highest value initiatives important to the client.

• Maximizes client satisfaction through Client Experience initiatives leveraging technology and automation for routine client deliverables.

• Leverages strong oversight skills to ensure contractual compliance and the proper handling of client deliverables.

• Prepares client and executive level reports.

• Ensures client performance review meetings are flawlessly executed.

• Partners with Business Performance Management Director to develop training materials and forums, strengthening associate’s understanding to effectively sell our integrated value proposition.

Requires a BA/BS degree in a related field and a minimum of 10 years of related experience including prior leadership experience and 3 to 5 year strategic planning; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred:

-Account management and/or operations experience in a healthcare business, especially with payers and clients.

-Acumen in utilization management products, clinical programs, pricing, and service delivery model. 

-Strategic and innovative thinker.

-Self-starter with the ability to operate with a great degree of discretion and resourcefulness to execute business goals.

-Excellent written, oral, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills with the proven ability to negotiate expectations between multiple parties. 

-Strong PowerPoint presentation and storytelling skills. 

-Proven experience in project execution, project management, and process improvement.

-Experience interacting effectively and positively with clients and senior management, providing thought leadership, and adept at influencing decision-making.

-Demonstrated leadership skills to identify opportunities, bring teams together, and help implement solutions.
