Summer Camp Facilitator

Job Summary

This position is a temporary position dedicated to the successful execution of the “Just Start” High School Entrepreneurship Camp which runs from July 15-20. The facilitator will be required to reside in on-campus housing from July 15 until July 20 as a chaperone and will be responsible for directing the 10 summer camp students to and from their shuttle bus each morning, leading activities each evening, and assisting students with general questions and campus navigation during their stay.

While the Camp Facilitator’s main duties will be in the mornings and evenings, leaving the majority of the day open, the Facilitator should be willing to provide each student with his/her cell phone number and be available to answer questions and offer support during the week.

Specific responsibilities include:
—Communication with student participants on daily schedule & details
—Directing students to their shuttle bus each morning
—Distributing meal coupons, residence hall keys, maps and other essential camp materials to students
—Leading team-building activities at a designated time each evening (activity instructions will be provided)
—Providing encouragement and support to each student as they work on the development of their business ideas and pitch presentations
—Technical support as needed

The ideal candidate will be well-organized with a customer-service focus. He/she should have strong skills in the following: event coordinating, communication, writing, project management, organization, and intrapersonal skills. Education in a business field is preferred. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma One year of related work experience Excellent communication and writing skills Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (completed or in process) Will this position require driving (personal vehicle, university vehicle, utility vehicle, or golf cart) in order to perform the job duties? Driving may be necessary but is not a primary responsibility Work Hours July 15-19: approximately 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. and 4 – 8 p.m. each day
July 20: 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. List any hazardous conditions or physical demands required by this position May be required to move tables and chairs for general event setup Does this position have supervisory responsibility? No
