We are looking for a passionate individual to be part of our Timber Challenge team, which is responsible for overseeing adventure courses and recreational activities in a vibrant ministry environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as an instructor and facilitator across various programs, including outdoor education, retreats, and seasonal camps.
  • Lead classes in activities such as rock climbing, ziplining, high ropes, team-building exercises, archery, and wilderness survival.
  • Design and implement program activities and opportunities for participants.
  • Assist in the maintenance and care of equipment and departmental infrastructure.
  • Support the hosting of outdoor education and retreat groups.
  • Engage in additional camp-wide tasks to maintain camp facilities and assets as needed.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of pre and post recreational experiences.
  • Contribute to the overall planning of camp ministry initiatives.

Spiritual:

  • Must be a professing Christian who aligns with Timber-Lee's mission and core values, and is committed to our Statement of Faith.
  • Exhibit a commitment to a Christian lifestyle, demonstrating character consistent with biblical principles.
  • Strive to embody the Christian lifestyle through thoughts, attitudes, actions, and behaviors that reflect personal faith in Jesus Christ.
  • Show a genuine love for the Lord and a desire to help others grow in their faith.

Organizational:

  • Support Timber-Lee's ministry philosophy and policies.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and excel in providing quality experiences for guests.
  • Possess excellent communication skills with the ability to teach and lead others effectively.
  • Exhibit behaviors and skills necessary for accountability and teamwork.
  • Have a passion for engaging with people, learning new skills, and embracing adventure.

Positional:

  • Selected candidate must reside on-site in shared dormitory-style accommodations (non-married).
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Capable of reaching and handling objects at heights of up to 84 inches.
  • Comfortable working at various heights while using appropriate safety gear (up to 55 feet above ground).
  • Must maintain a weight below the maximum climber's limit of 265 pounds.
  • Must obtain or be able to acquire lifeguard certification within 60 days of starting the position and demonstrate ongoing swimming proficiency.
  • Ability to navigate multi-terrain grounds in all seasons and work outdoors year-round.
  • A college degree is preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid driver's license.
  • This position is for a two-year contract with evaluations and potential for extension.
