At Zurich, the Latent & Environmental Claims organization is dedicated to helping our customers resolve a wide array of existing and newly emerging claim exposures involving toxic tort and latent injuries, as well as class action litigation. As a member of our Mass Litigation team, you will manage a claims caseload from assignment through resolution, with moderate direction from your team manager and Claims executives. At this level, you will provide technical claims service on mostly litigated claims of moderate to high exposure and complexity under general liability, excess, and other coverages. This requires significant policy interpretation and coverage analysis; retention and management of counsel and other vendors; collaboration with internal and external contacts, including underwriters, customers, and brokers; negotiation and claim resolution; and management of all communications and reporting associated with the life of a claim.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Claims and/ or Litigation Management area.
OR Juris Doctor and 2 or more years of experience in the Claims and/ or Litigation Management area.
OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including an Associate Degree with 6 or more years of experience in the Claims and/ or Litigation Management area.
OR Completion of Zurich Claims Training Program and 6 or more years of experience in the Claims and/ or Litigation Management area.
OR High School Diploma Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Claims and/ or Litigation Management area.
AND Must obtain and maintain required adjuster license(s) Microsoft Office experience Knowledge of insurance regulations, markets, and products

Preferred Qualifications:

Juris Doctorate Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong negotiations skills Experience handling Mass Litigation claims Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills Strong multi-tasking, organizational and prioritization skills Ability to work independently with minimal direction or oversight Aptitude for collaborating in a team environment and building cross functional working relationships Proactive claim handling approach and sharing of insights Ability to gather unique perspectives from other teams/functions to optimize outcomes. Customer service experience
