 The South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs (DDSN) is the state agency that plans, develops, coordinates, and funds services for South Carolinians with the severe, lifelong disabilities of:

intellectual disability and related disabilities autism spectrum disorder traumatic brain injury spinal cord injury and similar disability About  Midlands  Regional Center  Midlands Regional Center is a residential facility of the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs located in Columbia, SC serving residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Responsible for coordinating, integrating, and publishing the master/individual residential building schedules.

Works closely with existing Direct Support Managers for completion of employees work schedules.

Provides feedback to Residential Director to ensure program compliance, leave requests, and approvals are suitable as it relates to risk, quality, safety, and accountability.

Adjusts works schedules as needed to ensure appropriate coverage within buildings.

May answer after hours calls in reference to coverage only when emergency situations with coverage arise.

Responsible for reviewing residential services annual assessments and forwarding feedback to the appropriate Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional and Program Coordinator for action as needed.

Provide oversight to ensure quality assessments, reports and objectives are written, collected, computed and transferred to the appropriate record system.

Participates in developing Regional Center programs and procedures through attendance at the following meetings; Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional and Direct Support Manager meetings, Health and Wellness meetings, and others indicated.

Performs other related duties as assigned. 

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A high school diploma and relevant program experience. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required program experience.

Immunization:  If this position requires the applicant to work directly with DDSN consumers, a step PPD testing or QuantiFERON TB Gold testing must be completed prior to beginning employment. All new employees who are healthcare providers are required to provide documentation of immunity or be immunized against measles, mumps, rubella, pertussis, Varicella and Hepatitis B prior to beginning employment.

State Disaster Plan: In accordance with the State's Disaster Plan, which includes hazardous weather, DDSN employees may be required to work in times of an emergency or disaster.
