General Summary:
The role is essential for formulating the comprehensive production timetable that dictates the requirements for manufacturing intricate products. This position is pivotal in the rollout of an ERP/MRP system, collaborating with vendors and colleagues to guarantee a successful system implementation. The individual will assess the equilibrium between supply and demand for current and prospective needs, analyzing enterprise data to devise optimal schedules for various projects that must be executed. The role includes overseeing the process for schedule modifications and ensuring that the root causes of fluctuations are addressed. The candidate will define, develop, and implement best practices for production scheduling to maximize the utilization of company resources, ensuring the timely completion of multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the deployment of the ERP/MRP system.
- Ensure that the schedule for each project accurately reflects the contractual scope, workflow, and resources necessary for program execution.
- Act as the primary liaison with sales, engineering, quality assurance, operations, and the lab department to establish schedules and plans that allocate available resources effectively for customer projects.
- Conduct time-phased predictive analysis, critical path verification, and schedule risk assessments.
- Resolve scheduling conflicts and develop alternative strategies and tactical solutions.
- Perform schedule health metric analysis to identify risks, seek opportunities for plan improvements, and address schedule integrity issues.
- Conduct Schedule Risk Analysis and generate reports.
- Engage with project leads to fully comprehend customer delivery expectations and collaborate with stakeholders to analyze and incorporate approved schedule changes.
- Assist in developing baseline resource assignments within a detailed work breakdown structure, applying earned value methods, and verifying contract budget baselines.
- Coordinate with the management team, providing technical insights from a scheduling perspective on earned value variance analysis to aid in baseline variance reporting.
- Create and analyze ad hoc program reports and plans.
- Manage material procurement as necessary; issue purchase orders, manufacturing work orders, and collaborate with vendors to oversee delivery schedules.
- Regularly meet with the operations team to review project deadlines and activities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Required Qualifications (Education/Certification):
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent U.S. Resident (to process ITAR compliant data).
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in master scheduling or 5 years of scheduling experience.
- Proficient understanding of cost and schedule project management systems.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Demonstrated expertise in planning tools such as Primavera, Open Plan, or Microsoft Project.
- Familiarity with scheduling in an MRP/ERP environment (SAP, Oracle, EPICOR, ERPnext, etc.).
- Knowledge of integrating subcontractors with an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
- Experience with resource-loaded schedules.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Special Working Conditions/Job Characteristics:
- Experience and knowledge in the following areas:
- Development of IMS within a DoD environment.
- Earned Value Management System (EVMS).
- Critical Path Methodology (CPM).
- Schedule Risk Analysis (SRA).
- Manufacturing operations (CNC milling, turning, TIG and Laser Welding).
- Programming skills in Python, Matlab, or other languages.
