Overview

The purpose of this role is to manage, in conjunction with OVG support, all aspects of the stadium for the Lexington Sporting Club, making it a high-profile, commercial public venue suitable for conducting national, international and community sporting and special events, in a way that enhances the venue’s reputations along with the city of Lexington and the Lexington Sporting Club. Responsible for the overall operation of the facility, purchasing, policy administration, finance, security, production, maintenance, custodial, guest services, event management, capital expenditure planning, parking, and related operations for a sporting and event center. This position is responsible for the development, coordination and management of all aspects and strategies for the venue’s entertainment, non-intercollegiate sporting, usage, and meeting events.

This role pays a yearly wage of $90,000 to $120,000 plus bonus

About the Venue

Founded in 2021, Lexington Sporting Club is an American professional soccer team based in Lexington, KY. The soccer complex off Athens-Boonesboro Road near I-75 is scheduled to open in August 2024 in time for the organization’s first USL Super League season.

Responsibilities

• Manage overall venue and game day operations and ensure smooth and efficient operational procedures, enabling the facility to provide the highest level of customer service.
• Ensure venue maintenance is done to standards of OVG and Lexington Sporting Club to help minimize risk and improve safety. Comply with all applicable regulations and maintain a safe and secure facility environment for our employees and visitors.
• Oversee the Events & Operations Manager, who will hire, train and oversee all event-related staff, including security, guest services, janitorial, maintenance and all related staff per the OVG Management agreement
• Manage and lead the facility’s team: Hire, if needed, train, and supervise all employees, including but not limited to the Events & Operations Manager, Technical/AV Staff members, and a team of part-time associates, including support and security staff, hospitality services staff, and guest service representatives.
• Work alongside Lexington Sporting Club staff, including box office, marketing, food and beverage and others, to ensure the greatest possible experience for guests and staff for all events at the stadium
• Work with other Lexington area staff to book, plan, and execute special events for game-day fan activations.
• Lead weekly management and staff meetings to ensure strong communications.
• Manage and supervise multiple aspects of inventory control, budget and KPI monitoring, shift coverage, and general facility maintenance.
• Ensure the implementation of proper company policies and procedures and play a key role in upholding them to develop and improve service standards.
• Manage payroll and supply expenses to stay within budget.
• Organize facility reviews to ensure cleanliness and safety are conducted.

Qualifications


• Be passionate and knowledgeable about the soccer and venue management industry.
• Proven leadership ability in soccer organizations with 5+ years of venue management experience.
• Must be assertive, enthusiastic, energetic, and punctual.
• Strong communication skills are required. You must build a good working relationship with customers, all LSC staff, part-time staff, vendors, city and industry officials, and Oak View Group’s corporate staff.
• Ability to deliver high customer service to plan and organize the work necessary to run a successful facility.
• A college degree is strongly preferred (or similar work experience).
• Flexibility to work shifts as necessary for event scheduling, including days, evenings/nights and weekends.
