The Certified Athletic Trainer - Sports Medicine Specialist will provide athletic training services to a contracted educational institution, a sponsored or contracted event, or a sponsored or contracted organization. This role involves the evaluation, treatment, and disposition of injured athletes, as well as athletic injury prevention and management.
Key Responsibilities- Provide athletic training services to contracted educational institutions, events, or organizations
- Evaluate, treat, and dispose of injured athletes
- Develop and implement athletic injury prevention and management programs
- Assist with the Lexington Clinic Orthopedic practice and Physical Therapy practice
- Organize and participate in Sports Medicine Center programs
- Develop and deliver professional and layperson educational programming
- Assist with departmental research efforts
- Contribute to marketing and public speaking initiatives
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
- Certification by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification
- Certification (or certification eligible) by the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure
- CPR certification
- Valid driver's license
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Two years of athletic training experience preferred
The Certified Athletic Trainer - Sports Medicine Specialist must be able to:
- Move, traverse, position self, and remain in a stationary position for up to eight hours per day
- Lift, move, and carry material weighing up to 50 pounds
- Safely assist injured patients and athletes
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions
