The Role

MPP Union City is currently seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant to support company management by performing a variety of administrative functions, such as operating a switchboard and answering incoming calls, giving information to callers, taking deliveries and directing visitors

Location: Union City, CA
Non-exempt 

What You’ll be Responsible For in this Role

Welcomes visitors, obtains name, nature of visit, and notifies co-worker. Answers incoming calls, transfers calls and takes messages. Scans and files paperwork. General clerical duties Retrieves the mail Checks the office supplies to see if any of it needs to be replenished. Takes and signs off on deliveries to front desk. Communicate effectively with all levels in the organization Proficient in computer software (Outlook, Word, Excel) Ability to work independently and as a team player Ability to operate various office machines Performs other duties and/ or responsibilities as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) 1-2 years related work experience and/ or training; equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organization, including dealing with customers, vendors, and co-workers. Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Strong customer service and telephone communication skills. Upbeat and friendly personality. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to operate various office machines and computers. Bi-lingual preferred, but not required (ability to speak Spanish). Proficient in computer applications and software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point).
