GEM Technologies, Inc. (GEM) is seeking a IH / Safety Technician to join our team. This position is full-time and will support the Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM.



Clearance Level Required:
Uncleared - Must be able to obtain and maintain a Clearance

Overview:
  • Provides support to line managers and facility personnel by assisting health and safety professionals with collection of personnel air samples, swipe and bulk sampling, area sampling, real-time sampling, and inspection of areas or review of operations to ensure compliance with Laboratory and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with facilitating implementation of health and safety requirements.
  • Work may include field, laboratory, and/or data management activities.
  • Applies extensive knowledge and skills to complete specialized tasks and has full knowledge of other related disciplines.
  • Assignments may be broad or narrowly focused, but usually require contributions of original work.
  • Responsible for coordination and participation in developing the final product working with the requestor. Incumbent develops solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity, creativity, and independence.
  • Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments, which may be completed without established procedures.


Clearance & Citizenship Requirement:
  • To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.
  • Due to the federal nature of the work, a U.S. Citizenship is required.


About the Site:

The NNSA's Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), located in Los Alamos, New Mexico, is a design laboratory responsible for the safety and reliability of the nuclear explosives package in nuclear weapons. This lab possesses unique capabilities in neutron scattering, enhanced surveillance, radiography, and plutonium science and engineering (energy.gov).

  • High School Diploma and 4+ years of relevant experience.

  • Understanding of PPE.
