Job Title: Manufacturing Technician 4

Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Technician 4 to join our team in Los Alamos, NM. As a key member of our nuclear facility operations team, you will be responsible for manufacturing products, supporting material movement, and ensuring the safe operation of glove box equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform chemical processing, metal processing, and materials science tasks in a nuclear facility environment.
  • Adhere to all Laboratory and industry regulatory guidance and governance specific to installation, repair, and maintenance.
  • Write and maintain records, write concise progress reports, and interact frequently with support organizations.
  • Safely handle radioactive materials and chemicals in glove boxes, perform glove box bag outs and glove changes in a respirator, and follow Detailed Operating Procedures.
  • Protect nuclear materials and classified information in a secure environment, perform transactions on the LANMAS computer system, and conduct activities in accordance with environmental regulations.
Requirements:
  • Associate degree and 5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in one or more of the following: technical work, hazardous materials handling, analytical procedures, materials characterization, or testing.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-performance team environment, communicate both written and orally, and possess high attention to detail.
  • Proven knowledge and implementation of required safety practices for work assignments, and ability to follow safeguards & security procedures.
