Job Description

The Deal Desk Analyst reports to the Manager of Pricing Execution with a goal to support continual efforts to optimize negotiations of competitive price proposals. This role partners with Sales, Customer Service, and Product Managers to drive regional market pricing strategy. As a member of the Deal Desk team the responsibilities for this position include analyze and assess special price deviation proposals based on overall strategic revenue and gross margin targets. The position will also be responsible to provide special price recommendations to sales teams that advance the ability of commercial leadership to accomplish profitable growth objectives.

This is a remote U.S. based role working CST or EST hours. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and assess special price deviation proposals based on overall strategic revenue and gross margin region / product targets
  • Function as a member of the Deal Desk team responsible to provide special price recommendations to sales teams under the guidance of Pricing Manager and Pricing Director
  • Ensure that special price policies and procedure are adhered to in special price proposal deviation process
  • Apply competitive and market price information to special price deviation assessment
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, customer service and product management to gather insights and align special price deviation execution
  • Participate in pricing software implementation by performing testing of pricing functionality of planned systems upgrades
  • Support in the development of pricing guidelines, policies, and procedures to ensure consistent and effective execution of special price deviations across the organization
  • Stay current with industry best practices, emerging trends, and technological advancements related to pricing strategies & technology

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field.
  • Related experience: 3-5 years business experience of deal desk special price assessment
  • Good analytical Excel skills (should be able to create formulas, link and summarize data, etc.)
  • Ability to work with cross-functional groups and build meaningful business relationships
  • Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification
  • Works well with both internal and external customers.
  • Experience with pricing optimization software (CPQ) and ERP systems (JDE or other) preferred
  • Very good organizational skills and able to quickly learn new system applications
  • Detail-oriented with a strong ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $95,000 to $105,000 +bonus + medical, dental, vision benefits starting day 1 + 401k and PTO. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. (Full-time is defined as regularly working 30+ hours per week.)
