Are you an experienced APM in the construction industry with a background in high-end finish work or framing, eager to thrive in a respected and dynamic organization? Do you have a passion for building high-end custom homes? Louis Ptak Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for our Subcontracting division. You will work closely with project managers and superintendents to ensure our projects are completed on schedule and within budget. 

What you get to own:

  • Project Setup and Organization: Manage preconstruction activities, including setting up and organizing projects.
  • Document and Drawing Management: Distribute drawings digitally to internal and external teams, update files, and track all outstanding tasks. Prepare bid comparisons and manage the entire bidding process, including scope of work assembly, distribution, follow-up, and tracking.
  • Budgeting and Financial Management: Set up budgets, enter data into Excel, create client presentation documents, and enter approved budgets into accounting software. Update production tracking reports, track budget changes, update the PCO log, code all vendor and sub invoices, and assist with monthly client invoicing. Serve as the point person for all invoice-related questions from clients, subcontractors, and material suppliers. Prepare pay applications for vendor payments monthly.
  • Subcontract and Vendor Coordination: Issue contracts, change orders, and purchase orders. Process submittals such as samples, product data sheets, and shop drawings. Manage monthly invoicing and payment status for subcontractors and material suppliers.
  • Pricing and Value Engineering: Conduct quick turnaround pricing efforts and value engineering.
  • Meeting Coordination: Create and distribute OAC meeting agendas and minutes, and update and issue weekly internal meeting notes.
  • Material and Site Coordination: Coordinate job site material deliveries and timelines. Review and update Daily Field Reports as required.
  • Comprehensive Project Support: Provide overall support to the Project Manager and Site Foreman throughout all project phases.

What we're looking for:

  • 3+ years in the construction industry,
  • Hands-on carpentry experience in finishor framing 
  • Passion for building high-end custom residential homes
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents (drawings, specifications, architectural and structural details related to carpentry installation, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, team-building skills, and a strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with Sage or Project Management Accounting Software, Procore, Bluebeam, Smart Sheets, Google Sketchup, and MS Project.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
