Position Summary:

The Administrative Analyst is responsible for conducting special research studies, analyzing data, preparing statistics, making recommendations based on research findings, and monitoring and coordinating project/program activities. This position is governed by state and federal laws and institution policy.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Maintain a customer service approach and positive relations with faculty, students, and staff at A-State Jonesboro and distant sites in all operations.Perform clerical and office duties including, but not limited to: phones, emailing, and maintaining students’ records through Document Manager.Serve as front line customer service support responding to routine questions regarding student accounts and financial aid policy and procedures, providing instructions on the completion of forms, or making referrals to other sources of information.Assist students with understanding their student account and advise on payment options and financial responsibilities.Advise current and prospective military-connected students and dependents in attaining educational benefits offered by the VA.Maintain accurate and secure files for compliance and auditing purposes. Provide support to other offices on VA education policies and regulations.Develop and maintain resources on VA benefits, including web-based resources, VA process documentation, and forms.Meet the education and training requirements in order to maintain eligibility to serve as school certifying official for online VA students.Provide support and liaison with online billing team to assist with military scholarships for students and eligible spouses.Work collaboratively with the school certifying official in the Registrar’s Office to provide back-up support, and ensure coordination on VA data required for submission for federal requirements.Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge of statewide information system computer operations
Knowledge of designated data system functions
Knowledge of record management systems and retention policies and procedures
Knowledge of federal laws and regulations and state directives, policies, and procedures surrounding privacy and record maintenance
Ability to conduct research and compile data into report form
Ability to establish and maintain filing systems
Ability to operate standard office equipment
Ability to analyze documents to determine compliance with rules, regulations, and procedures
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing

General Days/Hours:

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Additional hours as requested and/or needed
Regular and reliable attendance

This position has been identified as a telecommuting position. The duties are performed during standard work hours of 8am-5pm at a predefined and approved work location. Individuals filling this role must have dedicated work space that provides privacy and security related to the work being performed. Additionally, individuals must have secure internet access with appropriate upload/download capabilities to perform the duties associated with the position. Individuals in this position will be required to review and acknowledge the Telecommuting Guidelines and Telecommuting Agreement for A-State.

Minimum Qualifications:

The formal education equivalent of a Bachelor’s Degree in public administration, general business, or a related field.
