Position Overview

To ensure we deliver a luxury experience to each customer in order to meet all service and quality expectations with each alteration i.e.: exceptional quality and meet shop date deadlines.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Act as a liaison between sales staff and tailor shop associates to maintain effective and efficient alterations processes.  Nurture the working relationships between tailors, sales professionals, and customer.  Partner with tailors/customers when re-alt issues arise to ensure alterations take precedence and are resolved. Determine shop dates according to capacity and anticipate rushes during peak times throughout year.  Ensure all garments are completed by shop date and delivered to appropriate location if needed.   Provide monthly schedule to meet needs of the business based on peak business hours and occasions.  Ensure all merchandise altered in shop is held to Ralph Lauren standards once completed i.e.: quality control process.  In partnership with the Store Management, manage the Alteration Tracking System to ensure all income/productivity is accurately reflected in monthly reports and P&L Statements.  Partner with General Manager to address tailor shop members on all performance related issues Oversee all training i.e.: with fitters/tailors to minimize re-alts in department. Work with sales associates and managers to heighten awareness and importance of shop dates, flow and knowledge of common vs. uncommon alterations.  Partner with General Manager to develop training workshops quarterly with teams.  Supervise and oversee the alterations department, coordinating the flow of work.  Responsible for training and development of the staff. Trains fitters and teach the correct method of marking.  Responsible for the recruitment, selection, training and supervision of staff to maximize performance. Coach and mentor staff to implement initiatives that support exceptional customer service standards.  Conduct educational meetings on alteration policies to various departments within the store.  Coordinate any equipment repairs with the Operations Manager.  Responsible for scheduling, vacation calendar to ensure adequate coverage.  Perform special requests for customers.

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

Minimum 5 years, with luxury retail experience.  Ability to work well under pressure.  Must be detailed, organized and precise.  Ability to collaborate and work within a team environment.
