What we want

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will work at the intersection of quantum optics and theoretical & computational chemistry and will investigate exotic new physical and chemical phenomena in materials and molecules enabled via strong light-matter interactions. The selected candidate will also have the opportunity to develop new quantum dynamics approaches, electronic structure approaches and/or classical molecular dynamics approaches for simulating various light-matter hybrid systems. What you need to know

Compensation will be commensurate to the selected hire’s experience.

Due to this position’s salary having all or a portion of it being funded by grants or contracts, the continuing salary and overall employment is contingent upon availability of these funds in the future. 

Required Education and Experience:

Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, Optics or any other related field

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong programming skills (Python/C++/Julia/Fortran etc.) 

Preferred Education and Experience:

Experience in developing and/or using quantum dynamics approaches, developing electronic structure approaches, experience in performing state of art ab-initio simulations, or experience in computational electromagnetics will be preferred

Prior research experience related to quantum electrodynamics, quantum optics, quantum chemistry, polaritonics or plasmonics is preferred

Responsibilities:

Research: Conduct research on light-matter interactions

Data: Participate in analyzing and disseminating data results as part of participation in group meetings, prepare manuscripts, periodic reports, scientific papers/presentations. 

Professional Development: Attend scientific meetings and seminars for research enhancement. Keep up to date on scientific research via reading of literature, etc. Provide advice and assistance to junior group members.
