Job Skills / Requirements

Primary Purpose

Responsible for the development, delivery, and management of pay practices and processes for all positions and jobs within the Company. As well as maintaining the company’s overall state of pay compliance. Manages and coaches the team to achieve defined departmental goals including the delivery of professional services to our employees.

Key Accountabilities

· Maintain awareness of legislation, regulations, and standards related to compensation to ensure compliance with area of responsibility.· Maintain an awareness of and deep understanding of collective agreements with the associations and unions to deliver against corresponding commitments. Identify issues requiring attention to the Director to support planning with HR colleagues.· Manages the set up and ongoing employment tax compliance in all jurisdictions.· Coordinates all ad hoc, monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll processes, reconciliations, and remittances. · Maintains detailed records and documentation of payroll functions for audit purposes, in accordance with statutory requirements.· Stays abreast of compliance requirements and industry best practices; recommends changes or modifications to existing policies and programs to remain in compliance; and adopts best practices where feasible.· Builds a culture of continuous improvement ensuring efficient and consistent employee experience and delivering operational excellence and simplification.· Builds and executes an operational strategy to deliver a superior client experience while creating capacity for business and people growth, development, and continuous improvement.

Requirements 

· Extensive understanding of compensation strategies, job structuring, and benchmarking methodologies· Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively educate and influence individuals at all levels.· Develop standard operating procedures (SOP) for all payroll processes.· Enforce company policies and procedures to ensure compliance and reduce company risk.· Manage and develop team, providing an environment that encourages professional development.· Provide guidance and management to ensure all deadlines are achieved.
