Senior Manager, Technical Accountant

Join our Corporate Accounting team in our Jersey City office where we have a flexible hybrid work environment with 2-3 days per week in-office and 2-3 days per week remote.
Develop robust documentation around SOX-compliant internal controls, and continuously ensure our internal controls are of best practice and in compliance with section 404 of the Sarbanes Oxley Act. Ensuring that Verisk’s accounting policies are being followed in accordance with USGAAP. Review each technical accounting area on a continuous basis to verify such compliance is continuous. Research and implementation of technical accounting guidance, as well as documentation of related corporate accounting memos documenting Verisk’s position and conclusion. Participate in the review, analysis, and documentation of complex transactions. Continually improve business processes through automation, thoughtful analysis, and researching standard methodologies in the industry. Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance. Support numerous special projects and requests from the executive leadership team/board of directors as they arise. Completes all responsibilities as outlined on annual Performance Plan. Completes all special projects and other duties as assigned. Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications
Requirements:
5-8 years of accounting experience (Big 4 or large regional audit firm experience strongly preferred) in applying USGAAP Strong understanding of USGAAP rules required Effective documentation, teamwork and communication skills are required Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook) Large ERP experience is a plus Experience in supervising employees a plus but not required Strong leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams Strong attention to detail, ability to self-review, and sense of ownership Excellent organizational and planning skills; set goals, establish priorities, utilize available resources and plan work to meet deadlines and commitmentsSkills/Education:
BS degree in accounting required Strong working knowledge of USGAAP CPA is a plus but not required #LI-LM03
