Overview

Job Summary

Under the direction of manager, plans, directs, and coordinates activities of a unit. Performs

direct patient care as needed and functions as clinical resource to nursing and support staff. Assesses, plans, evaluates and documents the nursing process of assigned unit as needed. Supports the operational functions of the department as related to reporting, payroll, service recovery, staff communication, staff data collection and reporting, staff competencies and regulatory readiness compliance. Works collaboratively with other members of the leadership team to lead staff in clinical and service excellence.

Job Responsibilities

Monitors care and data to optimize patient outcomes.

Develops and implements individual plans of care in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment.

Manages individual(s) including but not limited to hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.

May participate in the development of departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets and having direct responsibility for adhering to those goals. This includes responding to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.

Boone Health has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
