Job Summary

The Clinical Educator I role is a key position in preparing the healthcare workforce for the clinical setting by teaching competency-based curriculum programs. This role will provide training in the classroom and simulation setting for all newly hired or transferring clinical team members.

The Clinical Educator I will also provide live competency-based training on an annual and as-needed basis to ensure regulatory requirements are maintained. Team members in this role must demonstrate and maintain clinical expertise in the specific area of healthcare in which they provide education and training.

ResponsibilitiesOrientation Education
  • Teach live onboarding orientation courses and competencies for all newly hired and/or newly transferred clinical team members.
  • Deliver clinical training and team member development courses to empower the clinical team members.
  • Provide instructional education to new graduate team members enrolled in the residency program.
Annual and As-Needed Education
  • Coordinate and provide instruction for competency-based annual educational programs for the Prisma Health system.
  • Implement and provide live instructional education for as-needed educational programs as services within the healthcare delivery system change and/or evolve.
Documentation of Education
  • Record test scores and completion status in the learning management system of all educational offerings.
  • Maintain accurate records of all educational offerings.
  • Monitor learning management curriculum and assignments for team member completion.
  • Collaborate with educational department team members to provide feedback on educational materials.
Knowledge and Competency
  • Maintain individual validation requirements needed to provide competency training to other team members.
  • Preserve the clinical expertise and knowledge in the specific area of healthcare in which assigned to provide education and training.
Requirements

This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. The minimum requirements include a Bachelor's degree in a specific area of healthcare and three years of experience in the specialty area. Required certifications include a South Carolina Licensed RN. Preferred certifications include certification by a specialty board credentialing organization recognized by Magnet and specialty training such as arrhythmia, learning management systems, and electronic medical record systems.

In lieu of the BSN requirement, a nursing diploma or an Associate's Degree in Nursing may be considered if the applicant signs a Memorandum of Understanding agreeing to enroll in an accredited BSN or MSN program within one year and obtain a BSN or MSN degree within four years.

Work Environment

This role will be based in the Colonial Life Building and will work in the Emergency Department. The work shift is days, and the location is in the United States of America.
