Development Officer (full-time)

Reporting to and in partnership with the President, the Development Officer will spearhead development efforts at the St. Jerome Institute. The ideal candidate for this position has an enthusiasm for Catholic, liberal education and is comfortable with speaking to different audiences about it. Though development experience is preferred, this position is also available to recent graduates who want to build a career in development. The ideal candidate will possess a strong ability to write clearly and effectively.

Responsibilities:

Articulate and represent the vision, mission and culture of the St. Jerome Institute Assist in executing SJI’s annual fundraising plan Oversee organization of development events and initiatives Develop and track proposals and reports for all fundraising Manage the implementation of our fundraising system along with data entry and gift processing Track gift commitments and actual gifts Assist in securing financial support from individuals, foundations, and other donors Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with major donors and a sense of community with all donors Cultivate a culture of giving in our expanding community

Qualifications

BA (required) Experience in development is preferred though not necessary – salary offer will be commensurate to experience Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, and communication skills Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge (or an analogous program) preferred
