QUALIFICATIONS FOR A WORKFORCE PROGRAM MANAGER

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, business management, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in program development, program management, workforce development, and/or rural community development

OR

  • Master's degree in business administration, business management, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in program development, program management, workforce development, and/or rural community development
  • Comfortability working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented, dynamic environment with multiple ongoing responsibilities and high expectations for quality of work
  • Solid creative, strategic, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365
  • Exceptional research and writing capabilities
  • Fantastic communication skills and ability to represent the organization externally
  • Comfortability in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with multiple responsibilities and high-quality standards
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to serve a range of duties
  • Attentive to detail
  • Ability to multitask, perform analysis, and meet deadlines
  • Willingness to travel (25%) with both long-term and short-term notice
  • Experience working, living, or studying in the DRA region (preferred)

 

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY

This remote, full-time management role works 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday.

As a remote Program Manager, you start by reviewing the progress of programs like the Delta Workforce Grant Program (DWP) and the Workforce Opportunity for Rural Communities (WORC) grant program. You ensure all programs are on track and evaluate applications for other DRA programs such as the States' Economic Development Assistance Program (SEDAP) and Economic Adjustment Assistance (EAA) grants. Collaborating with others, you build strategic partnerships with federal agencies, development organizations, governments, philanthropic entities, and NGOs. You strategize on leveraging these partnerships to support workforce development in the eight-state Delta region. Additionally, you meet with your team throughout the day to brainstorm solutions and address challenges. Your management role requires leadership, analytical thinking, and strong communication skills to drive the success of workforce programs and initiatives.
