The Product Support Specialist provides technical support for internal and external customers focused on aircraft, engine, or shop related in-service problems, production issues, service centers, repair schemes, and test equipment maintenance. Research, edit, proof technical documents, drawings and specifications, and interact with end-users to bring clarity and consistency for the data. May lead or participate in special projects as assigned by the Technical Services Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - 

Supports field/shop issues and service center network by clarifying service/maintenance documentation, and by developing repairs and salvage schemes for both new production parts and in-service aircraft and engine components. Investigates reports of defective, damaged or malfunctioning parts, assemblies, systems or equipment to determine nature of problem. Assists in developing potential solutions. Edits and reviews technical documents for accuracy based on experience, knowledge and consistency with approved data. Facilitates communication with and between Field Maintenance, Engineering, Fleet Management, Supply Chain, service centers and applicable suppliers regarding repair schemes, engineering-related production problems, source material and other product knowledge. Research/understand/ability to read/analyze/and interpret technical documents such as Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Industry/Military Specifications and Engineering specifications (e.g. Boeing BAC, BMS, BPS & GE Specs), DMWR’s, MEO’s, Military/Boeing Quality standards, Tech sheets, Travelers, forms, drawings, aircraft and engine maintenance manuals, component maintenance manuals, and illustrated parts catalogs for relevant information and data to be included into technical publications. Coordinates and authors Service documents and changes to ICA. Interprets engineering drawings and facilitates correction to ICA relating to maintenance operations. Conduct oneself in accordance with Company’s Core Values. Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE - 

High School diploma with an FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license is desired. An Associate degree in a technically oriented field is desirable. 10+ years of diversified experience in rotorcraft industry maintenance. Understanding and ability to read, analyze, and interpret Engineering Drawings, Military Specifications and Engineering specifications (e.g. Boeing BAC, BMS, BPS & GE Specs), maintenance manuals, and Structural Repair Manuals. Understanding of Engineering processes (requirement evaluations and analysis). Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; ability to learn other applications. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment. Maintain a good working relationship with all team members, stakeholders, and customers. Ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects with multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast paced environment while working efficiently and providing a quality product with attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present ideas, concepts and proposals to a wide range of audiences at all levels, technical and non-technical, internal and external. Must meet International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) as a U.S. Person.
