About the Role

As a Residential Support Staff member, you will engage with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in a supportive and enriching manner. Your role will involve providing supervision and assistance during various daily activities, including personal care, social integration, and community involvement. You will coach, motivate, and support individuals throughout their daily experiences, contributing to their growth and independence.


Key Responsibilities:

Job Overview

Residential Support Staff work closely with one to three individuals with disabilities, either in their own homes or in residences provided by Community Intersections. Your primary goal will be to assist or train individuals in areas identified by their support teams to enhance their independence in daily living skills. Full-time positions are available to work with adults with developmental disabilities in a community setting.

Staff members will work shifts that include two consecutive days with overnight rest periods in the individuals' homes. Full-time shifts are structured to ensure effective support and care.

Essential Duties:
  • Collaborate with assigned individuals based on a weekly schedule.
  • Teach and model essential skills as outlined in each person's Service Plan.
  • Facilitate connections and relationships within the local community.
  • Encourage responsible decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including daily contact notes and assessments.
  • Assist with activities of daily living, such as bathing, meal preparation, and mobility support.
  • Support household maintenance tasks, including cleaning and shopping.
  • Communicate any concerns regarding the individuals to your supervisor.
  • Attend and complete all required training sessions and departmental meetings to enhance your knowledge and skills.
  • Engage in physical activities necessary for assisting individuals with daily living tasks.
  • Lift and move individuals as required, adhering to safety protocols.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Participate in team meetings as necessary.
  • Assist with transportation arrangements for community access.
  • Maintain open communication with individuals, families, and funding sources.
  • Uphold the company’s core principles: Teamwork, Communication, and Respect.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Completion of a criminal background check in accordance with state regulations.
  • Valid driver's license and liability insurance are required.
  • Three positive references, including at least two from previous employers.
  • Strong communication skills for sharing information with the support team.
  • Relevant skills in areas of support required by the individuals served.

  • Hiring Bonus of $250 after 30 days and an additional $250 after six months for full-time and part-time employees.
