To evaluate, educate, tutor, counsel, and provide care to students with and without hearing loss to develop spoken language and listening skills using a reverse mainstreaming model. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Completes documentation in a manner consistent with medical center and department policies. Demonstrates the ability to:
* Document and report information consistent with school-legal policies and professional standards, using language appropriate to the use of the documentation and the audience/recipients.
* Consistently meet standards for timely filing of documentation (, attendance logs turned in daily).
* Document to ensure reimbursement of services provided.
* Provides educational services in a manner consistent with compliance requirements, medical center policies, TN Department of Education standards, and the department's financial goals. Plan and implements developmentally appropriate auditory-oral curriculum and activities according to the child's IFSP/IEP, NAEYC guidelines, TN Department of Education standards, Options Standards, and Center policy. Demonstrates the ability to:
* Meet child-contact hour standards.
* Make judicious decisions relative to department funds and resources.
* Prepares unit plans with school team members.
* Prepares weekly and daily lesson plans with assigned classroom team members.
* Posts unit and lesson plans each time they are updated.
* Prepares and distributes classroom newsletter with each unit.
* Submits reports necessary for compliance with licensing agencies and agency contracts.
* Plans activities in advance in order to assure that needed supplies and materials are prepared with assigned classroom team members.

* Plan and coordinate field trips as appropriate to your unit plans. Secure appropriate releases from families prior to the field trip.

* Completes educational assessments using appropriate testing methods and equipment for the student type, diagnosis, and admissions requirements to the school. Demonstrates the ability to:
* Obtain information pertinent to the assessment as needed for the IEP/IFSP.
* Administer and score formal and informal tests and assessments for each grading period or as stipulated on the IEP/IFSP.
* Analyze and interpret the test and assessment results.
* Report findings to the student, family, school system, and other members of the student educational team in a timely manner and consistent with FERPA standards.
* Evaluate and incorporate research findings into the assessment and educational plan for each student.
* Develop teacher made tests, as needed, to document progress made on the IEP/IFSP.
* Formulates IEP/IFSP goals to address deficits, student/family areas of concerns, and other members of the student educational team concerns. Demonstrates the ability to:
* Write functional and measurable IEP/IFSP goals and objectives based upon the results of the assessment and input from the student educational team and family. These goals need to be in the following domains: auditory, speech, language, cognition, social skills, self-help, motor, and any others determined to be appropriate.
* Identify and recommend additional/alternative services when appropriate.
* Develop goals consistent with the family's goals and resources.
* Apply evidence based practices in the educational setting.
