Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Individualized Educational Programs (IEPs): Create and implement IEPs that align with each student's needs, goals, and objectives.
  • Provide Research-Based Instruction: Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and techniques to support student learning and achievement.
  • Assess and Evaluate Student Progress: Regularly assess and evaluate student progress against instructional objectives, making adjustments as needed to ensure student success.
  • Collaborate with Colleagues: Work closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and other support staff to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to student support.
  • Manage IEP Meetings and Progress Reports: Coordinate and facilitate IEP meetings, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and engaged in the student's educational plan.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Valid teaching license with a K-12 Special Education endorsement or proof of enrollment in a job-embedded Educator Preparation Program.
  • Experience: Prior experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in a special education setting.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
