As a member of the training team, the instructional resource manager leads the development and maintenance of ATSSA training products and related services; conducts research to ensure appropriate product strategy; manages products inventory; and provides analysis and input on products budget.
Product Maintenance
Provides review of ATSSA training products and makes recommendations for updates, changes, and sunsetting of individual products, services, and related categories. Completes updates of product content based on technical specifications and industry changes. Ensures appropriate planning and execution of products updates and changes to ensure compliance, relevance, and technical accuracy.Product Development
Leads products development and execution of new products in anticipation and response to industry needs. Conducts market research, customer needs analysis, and feasibility for development of new products. Completes operational requirements of product development by meeting deadlines, ensuring proper review and coordination. In collaboration with the training team, ensures product development corresponds with new courses. In collaboration with the associate director of course development and accounting, contributes to the pricing strategy and development for new products. Identifies new and existing product partnerships to ensure growing products development and sales.Inventory
Manages inventory by facilitating inventory turnover and products availability by reviewing and adjusting inventory levels and corresponding inventory production. Conducts monthly inventory audit and reports to accounting and within training team as requested. Manages inventory vendors and suppliers and related contracts.Staff / Contractor Management & Leadership
Effectively coaches, develops, and manages direct report(s) and relevant team(s) to successful outcomes. Provides performance management feedback in a timely manner; assists with developing upskilling plans for direct report(s). Direct management and leadership of Learning Services Coordinator. Develops and executes recruitment and retention plans for certified master instructors. Fosters productive relationships with and efficient operations involving certified master instructor workflow. Oversees certified master instructor contract negotiation and renewal execution; manages certified master instructor reviews and performance management.Other
Provides data for and development of the products budget and forecast changes. Produces reports, presentations, and other documents as requested. Serves on internal teams and working groups; provides updates in meetings as directed. Leads project management ensuring proper planning, adherence to deadlines and budget, and executes activities associated with projects. Manages vendor relationship relevant to product development, management, and inventory, reviews contracts as needed. In collaboration with training team members, provides information to marketing for the marketing and sales of training products. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending participating in relevant professional development activities, reviewing professional, technical, and industry publications and content and participating in relevant professional societies. On-site participation in ATSSA and industry events as requested (Convention & Expo, etc.) as requested. Provides back-up to training team members as requested. Other duties as assigned that drive the vision, fulfill the mission, and abide by the values of the association.QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business or field tied to product sector and industry; minimum of five years of relevant work experience; association experience and/or experience in a training certification environment preferred; experience managing direct reports to successful outcomes. Certified Product Manager (CPM) or New Product Development (NPD) certification a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to drive a variety of projects to successful outcomes at once; customer-centric approach to work; knowledge of basic budgeting and forecasting principals; ability to produce reports and analyze data; proven ability to conduct relevant research and develop recommendations; proven detail orientation and ability to focus and edit detailed information; effective communication skills; ability to use critical thinking to resolve problems and determine solutions; ability to effectively manage vendors and partner relationships.
