The Role
As the APS 5 Executive Assistant you will undertake a range of duties that include:

Perform front of office support functions, including greeting visitors and receiving and responding to phone calls, emails and general correspondence; Manage complex travel arrangements for Navy SES Band1; Develop and manage the Training Force Awards Framework; Under limited direction, display initiative and apply sound judgment in providing executive and administrative assistance to senior executives including: managing the appointment diary and meeting arrangements of the Senior Executive Service Officer; Utilise the information available to prepare briefing packs, reports and papers for senior Defence committees; Build and sustain relationships in order to work collaboratively within the work area and other areas of Defence; Interpret and provide advice within the administration function area based on legislation, policy and procedures; Assist with providing finance support in line with Defence Chief Executive Instructions; Maintain records management systems in line with Defence policies and procedures; Perform follow up for credit card compliance across the Branch.
About our Team
The office of Commodore Training is a small team lead by the Chief of Staff. The team manages a high tempo of office functions for Training Force. Commodore Training is responsible for the delivery of all Navy Training activities and plays a key role in promoting and influencing a shared civilian/military commitment to the strategic direction of Defence.

 The role is a position of trust and discretion. In working directly in Commodore Training, it is crucial that individuals are suitably skilled, professional, work well under pressure and have strong communication skills.

You will have excellent time management skills, strong attention to detail and excel at building and maintaining stakeholder relationships. You will be self-aware, with a cooperative and positive attitude, and be experienced in working within diverse teams, demonstrating consideration and respect for a diversity of ideas and perspectives of others.
