Job Summary

The Digital Media & Event Tech (DMET) is responsible for the smooth operation of the technical audiovisual needs and live streaming needs and aspects of campus events (inside and/or outside). At times, these events may occur after hours or on the weekends. The DMET will manage and update information on the college website (mitchellcc.edu) and its supporting websites, educational tech platforms, etc. The DMET will work with external web developers for more complex website projects. 

The DMET works with the Director of Marketing & Communications/Public Information Officer to develop a strategy for the scheduling of social media content on the College’s social media platforms to market the College’s programs to relevant audiences with the goal of engaging in methods to publish quality content across multiple digital platforms. 

The DMET will also provide photography and videography coverage of college events and/or for marketing needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Taking photos and/or video at College events or for marketing needs Work with other vendors/advertisers to create/provide content (photos/videos) to represent Mitchell’s brand Manage and update information on the College website (mitchellcc.edu) and its supporting websites, educational tech platforms, etc. Work with external web developers for more complex web design projects Understand how to use content management systems like WordPress and social media aggregators like Hootsuite Knowledge of or have the aptitude to learn set up and operation of audio-visual equipment, lighting, sound systems, and other technical equipment for events Knowledge of or have the aptitude to learn how to stream live events using Streamlabs and/or familiarity with other streaming software  
The above includes:
Conducting sound and lighting checks before events to ensure everything is working properly Troubleshooting technical issues that may arise during events and performances Assisting in the set-up and breakdown of equipment before and after events Ensuring the safety and security of equipment and the overall technical setup Maintaining and organizing equipment inventory  
This position will collaborate with event organizers, performers and other staff to ensure technical requirements are met

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in electronic media/broadcasting, marketing, communications, English or related field or equivalent on-the-job experience will be accepted Demonstrated experience with managing a website, media/live events and social media in a higher education setting preferred   Qualifications/Requirements:
Must have a good understanding of audio-visual equipment, lighting systems, and sound technology, as well as strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure Possess a varied skillset, including experience with: Creative project management Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills with a focus on attention to detail Working with a website content management system, with preference for experience with WordPress and/or HTML coding Social media management
