Raytheon Industry 4.0 - Smart Digital Factory and Automation (SDF&A) has an immediate career-growth opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and innovative Automation Systems Engineer (ASE) team member to join our Team within the Effectors portfolio.

The role includes sustaining and improving physical automation solutions (robots, PLCs, HMIs, and vision systems). Also, the role will support the design, development, and implementation of new automation solutions and advanced IIoT / Industry 4.0 technologies for manufacturing.

Additionally, this role will merge technical, manufacturing, and business knowledge to support new innovations across Raytheon. The role has a foundation in controls engineering and the candidate will work in a highly collaborative, diverse, geographically distributed team of engineers and leaders.

What You Will Do

Continuous improvement, upgrades, and sustainment of deployed automation systems using core ASE skills including PLC programming, Robotics programming, Vision programming, HMI programming, and controls upgrades. Collaborate with the factory to identify, development, and deploy process automation systems and digital solutions. Integrate equipment with business systems for performance monitoring, data collection, and/or transactional automation.

Qualification You Must Have

2+ years of experience in manufacturing operations/engineering, systems engineering, controls engineering, and/or automation engineering; or an advanced STEM degree with a minimum of 1 year professional experience.  Experience with automation mechanisms, controls, PLC programming, robotics programming, equipment troubleshooting, and/or vision systems programming  Experience supporting or troubleshooting manufacturing equipment The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security
clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens
are eligible for a security clearance.. 

Qualification We Prefer

Active DoD Secret Clearance  Fanuc Robotics experience  Rockwell PLC experience  Keyence, Cognex, or iRVision programming experience  Python or other scripting experience  Experience with control systems design (AutoCAD preferred)

This position is an onsite role – Tucson, AZ: The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
