Position Summary : The Vice President (VP) of Community Engagement is a pivotal leadership role at Marine Credit Union.The VP of Community Engagement leads and manages all aspects of operations of Marine Credit Union’s Foundation and community engagement initiatives to promote financial health/wellness and advances access to MCU’s products and services to drive member growth. This position requires an experienced and dynamic leader who will oversee the strategic direction, fundraising, grant-making, and community outreach efforts to ensure the foundation's mission and community activities are in alignment with MCU’s mission and other areas of the credit union. Major Duties and Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership: Execute the strategic vision for both Marine Credit Union’s community engagement division and MCU’s Foundation, aligned with the mission and goals of the organization. Promote and foster positive public relations aligned with MCU and the MCU’s Foundation brand. Achieve membership growth in new and creative ways that reinforces MCU’s values/mission that are meaningful to our target markets. Foundation Planning and Oversight: Develop and initiate strategic plans to establish goals and advance the mission of MCU and MCU’s Foundation. Manage the programs of the Foundation including, but not limited to, oversight of existing programming, developing community awareness, fundraising, grant proposals, fiscal management, fund investment, promotion and publicity. Strengthen, maintain and adhere to all Foundation policies and procedures in alignment with MCU’s Foundation’s Board of Directors Act as a liaison between the MCU’s Foundation Board of Directors and Marine Credit Union. Lead, develop, mentor and coach MCU’s Foundation employees, including managerial oversight of all internal and external personnel. Community Engagement and Public Relations : Foster strong community relationships by collaborating with local organizations, nonprofits, and to address community needs and giving the community access to MCU’s products/services. In collaboration with the Director of Community Outreach, mobilize Marine Credit Union employee volunteers to serve the community. Implement outreach programs that promote the MCU's presence and impact in the community to increase market growth. Lead, develop, mentor, and coach the Director of Community Outreach and Community Outreach personnel. Responsible for the oversight and execution of community events, workshops, meetings, and outreach activities, ensuring their success and impact to drive market penetration.  Organizational, People & Team Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and lead a team of community engagement employees and foundation employees by inspiring a culture of people helping people. Provide influence and guidance to support team members including the VolunTeam Committee, Certified Financial Counselors and Marketing sponsorships for brand identity. Foundation Board of Directors Liaison: Coordinate and lead foundation Board meetings. Oversee implementation of all Board directives, policies, and procedures. Fiscal Management: Engage in fiscally safe financial practices on behalf of the Foundation and ensure it operates within budgetary, state, and federal guidelines. Develop the annual Foundation budget and submit quarterly financial reports to the Board of Directors. Review and approve all grant, reporting and donation requests. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration with a minimum of 3 years related experience in administration of volunteer, non-profit, or public service agency required. Proven success in fundraising initiatives, grant writing, event planning, program development and community engagement. Prior community leadership experience – education, non-profits, commerce. Strong skills in fiscal management, resource development and maintenance, and public relations required.Experience working with volunteers and donors and possess strong public speaking and written communication skills. Skills and Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent intrapersonal and community outreach skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Proven ability to collaborate and foster strong relationships with Boards, executive leadership and community leaders. Ability to serve as a community advocate.
