Multi-Cloud FinOps Engineer  

Location: Atlanta, GA preferred. Alternate locations may be considered. This position will work in a hybrid model (remote and office). The Ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations.

The  Multi-Cloud FinOps Engineer will be instrumental in managing and optimizing cloud costs across multiple cloud vendors. You will build and maintain cost management tools, develop data pipelines for insightful reporting, collaborate with engineering teams to promote cost-efficient practices and provide critical financial data to support executive decision-making. The ideal candidate is a skilled problem solver with a passion for cloud financial management and a track record of successful collaboration in complex environments. The Multi-Cloud FinOps Team supports transformation by optimizing cloud costs and driving financial excellence across our enterprise.

How you will make an impact:

Be a subject matter expert on cost and usage data across cloud providers. Develop data pipelines, visualizations, metrics, and enterprise dashboards via automated solutions to centralize import information for consumption within FinOps and application/development teams. Develop and maintain financial models for cloud costs based on business requirements and provide analysis to support strategic decision-making. Participate in automating, integrating, cleaning, and maturing the Multi-Cloud FinOps team's processes and data. Monitor and track detailed cloud costs for large enterprise cloud migration programs, ensuring financial accuracy and visibility for project teams. Enable a cost-conscious culture via by delivering critical financial insights and facilitating the adoption of cost-efficient cloud practices. Contribute and drive the Multi-cloud FinOps Roadmap. Work with IT, Procurement, Finance, and Engineering executive stakeholders to develop requirements and success criteria aligned with the company objectives and goals. Participate in product evaluations and some architectural design review sessions to ensure tagging and container labeling and other cost savings are adhered to. Lead the integration of cloud FinOps tools to enhance capabilities and automate processes, driving improvements in cost visibility and management. Upholds enterprise policy guidelines and recommends new and improved guidelines.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field of study and a minimum of 10 years in one or more of the following: information systems, computer networking, telecommunications, systems development, and management required; significant experience with multiple technical and business disciplines required; broad-based experience to plan and design highly complex systems; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences

Experience:  Demonstrated experience working in large corporate environments with complex, matrixed responsibilities.  Communication Skills:  Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex financial and technical issues clearly.  Influence & Collaboration:  Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive a culture of cost optimization through collaboration and strategic guidance.  Problem-Solving Skills:  Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges and finding effective solutions.  Technical Skills:  High proficiency in Python and Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, cloud management tools, and FinOps practices is essential.  Certifications:  Relevant Cloud FinOps and/or Cloud certifications preferred (e.g., Cloud FinOps Practitioner/Professional, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals, Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer).
