The Department of Sociology at Jacksonville University invites applications for adjunct positions to teach undergraduate courses in the areas of:
Introductory Sociology Environmental Sociology Sociology of Leadership and OrganizationsIn-person or hybrid instruction is preferred; applications for fully online instruction will be considered.
Duties/Responsibilities
Adjunct faculty members must perform all duties associated with teaching courses at the post-secondary level. These duties include:
Providing lecture Leading class discussions Writing exams, grading exams, and providing feedback on any other assignments Providing prompt responses to student questionsImportant note: This is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and/or skills
required for this position. The University reserves the right to amend and change
responsibilities to meet organizational needs.
Required Skills/Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent time management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education, Certificates, Licenses, & Experience
Applicant must possess either a Ph.D. or Master’s Degree in Sociology or 18 graduate credit hours earned in Sociology.
