Automotive HVAC / Thermal Test Technician – R169866
This position is very dynamic and will require seamless collaboration with other staff to ensure that each test runs as intended. The technician will primarily work in our HVAC/Thermal test lab but may also work in other functional test areas if required. This position may require travel, overtime work on some weekends, and/or off-shift work as needed.
HVAC/Thermal Technician responsibilities include:
  • Instrumenting vehicles and conducting component/system level testing
  • Reading and following complex build sheets and test plans
  • Assisting the engineering team with troubleshooting, root cause analysis and developing effective countermeasures
  • Communicating accurately and professionally with technicians, engineers, and management teams
  • Tracking personal progress to ensure department and corporate objectives are met
  • Creating detailed technical documents to support test setup and operation as well as creating accurate detailed test reports for submitting to test engineering
Qualifications:
  • Associates degree in an automotive related discipline is preferred; HS Diploma required
  • Will consider 5 years of related test technician experience in lieu of an associate’s degree.
  • Preferred 3-5 years directly related experience in HVAC/Thermal testing
  • Experience with instrumentation and data collection Campbell Scientific Data Logger, Thermocouples, Etc. is a plus
  • Very strong automotive mechanical/technical skills, and proficiency using Microsoft Office tools
  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
  • Positive attitude, eagerness to learn new tasks and must have the ability to maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Relatively clean driving record
  • Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
