The Manager of Apprenticeship programs will assist in the internal day-to-day operation of the relationship between the Building Trades and Industrial apprenticeship programs being served at the campus. This may include facilitating enrollment and/or customizing course offerings to meet related educational requirements for apprentices and journeypersons seeking upgrade training. The position will also entail the management of the La Porte Learning Center which requires maintaining a safe environment and overseeing the safekeeping of onsite equipment.

$51,000 Annual Salary

Initiate activities to grow the industrial and construction trade apprenticeship programs Recruit, select, and orient faculty with appropriate academic credentials for the general education component of the programs Identify appropriate curriculum needs to accomplish related training goals of company-sponsored apprenticeship programs Manage the enrollment of Building Trades and Industrial apprenticeship students Provide counseling to apprenticeship students to resolve curriculum, book, enrollment, and other issues that may arise for students Administer the financial tracking and account management functions related to grant initiatives Manage the process of transfer for interested apprenticeship graduates Collect and organize data required to meet contractual obligations Coordinate and/or manage repair, maintenance and custodial services Ensure safety requirements are met and inspection issues are resolved Oversee the safekeeping of onsite equipment, including trainers and computers

Bachelor's Degree in related field; Master’s degree in a related field preferred

Five (5) years related experience in one or more of the following areas: apprenticeship programs or journeyperson status, enrollment and registration, adult education, or curriculum and programming Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and process confidential information with the utmost discretion and according to current FERPA guidelines Ability and desire to interact with individuals of varying social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds Must have the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with other staff members and students and administrators, and be able to be productive in time-sensitive and high-pressured situations Must have the ability and willingness to travel
