Loan Review Specialist

SUMMARY

Review all loans for completion of loan documentation and adherence to internal policies and approvals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Performs review of consumer and commercial loans
  • Executes quality control reviews and identifies trends to improve quality of loan closing and loan operations
  • Identifies discrepancies and issues, facilitates resolution and takes corrective action
  • Collaborates with loan operations team members on error resolution
  • Uses exceptions tracking system and software applications to track, monitor, and update status of loan documents
  • Validates adherence to the Loan Policy and required approvals
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management
  • Performs duties as defined in the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Program

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Three to five years of consumer and commercial loan-related experience
  • General knowledge of bank operations, policies and procedures
  • Strong attention to detail, good judgment and decision-making skills
  • Presents a professional image in dealing with customers, interdepartmental and external representatives
  • Have a high degree of interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with customers and employees
  • Ability to exercise personal and professional responsibility and work with limited direction
  • Must be able to use tact and diplomacy and communicate effectively via telephone, letters, personal contact, etc
  • Computer Skills - Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet Explorer
  • Must be a team player
  • General knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Program preferred.

  • Analytical Skills- The ability to observe, evaluate, summarize, and apply meaningful data in the problem-solving process. The level of logical reasoning necessary to connect required actions to desired outcomes. The ability to forecast events based upon current situations. Demonstrated skill in generating alternative solutions to problems.
  • Time Management- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effective use of time. The level of control/oversight of all assigned projects and responsibilities.
  • Attention to Detail- Accuracy and attention to detail are exceptional. Assignments are completed carefully and in full accordance with specific instructions. Exceptional quality standards are maintained in the recording of numerical data and organizational information. Grammar, spelling, and punctuation are flawless.

Must be capable of operating all types of office equipment

Computer, telephone, fax machine, scanner, copier, printer

SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS: None

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Requires incumbent to remain sedentary within office
  • Requires some travel for training/seminars
